The IsaDora Black & White collection was released already in October 2016 but it’s not until now that I’ve given the products a good try – and I really like them! The collection contains a mix of both new and existing make-up products and in this blog post I’ll show you the news.
The monochrome look is very trendy at the moment and IsaDora has created this collection with inspiration from the simplicity in black and white. IsaDora states that the monochrome look suits everyone and it can be everything from minimalistic and rock’n’roll to feminine and romantic.
My favorite product in the collection is the IsaDora Eye Color Wonder Bar in 02 Smoky Eyes. It’s beautiful! This eyeshadow palette contains 12 different shades with a mix of matte, shimmery and frosted eyeshadows. I think the palette is great for creating a smoky look and I love that it contains both darker and lighter shades so that you can easily vary the looks. The eyeshadows are quite pigmented, lasts all day and I’ve only noticed some fallout from the glittery shades. The palette also comes with a double ended eyeshadow applicator – one side is a brush and the other is a smudger. The gorgeous glitter shades in this palette saved my New Year’s look and I’m sure I’ll get a lot of wear out of this palette!
The collection comes with two new kohl kajals – one white and one black. Personally I almost never wear kajal or eyeliner but I’ve seen some really cool graphic looks where black and white kajals are used in combination. IsaDora states that the kajals have a soft texture, they are easy to apply and lasts for several hours without any mess. The cone shaped tip is supposed to make application super simple and the tip remains pointed without any need for sharpening the kajal. The product can be used both on the upper and lower lash line, on the waterline or for a smoky eye look. The active ingredients in the kajals are emollients which are hydrating and vitamin C and E which are antioxidants, nourishing, protects the skin from free radicals and prevents early aging of the skin.

Next is the IsaDora Matt Fixing Powder which I had really high hopes for! The powder is transparent and is claimed to help your make-up stay on for longer. The powder also has oil absorbing ingredients which results in a matte finish, it has a blurring effect which helps covering uneven skin and it contains hyaluronic acid which hydrates the skin. What made me most interested in this powder is the fact that it is both matte and hydrating. Usually when I use matte powders my skin feels very dry after a while, but I haven’t had that problem with this powder. The finish is matte but at the same time it’s not that matte that the skin looks lifeless. However, I have quite oily skin and this powder doesn’t stay on all day for me, I need at least one touch up during the day. On the other hand, that’s the case with most powders and all in all, I think the IsaDora Matt Fixing Powder lived up to my high expectations!
The active ingredients in this powder are:
- Hyaluronic acid – hydrating
- Silica – oil absorbing
- Vitamin C and E – hydrating, nourishing, protect the skin from free radicals and early aging
- Spherical micro pearls – soft focus effect, blurs uneven skin
Lastly we have the IsaDora Twist-Up Matt Lips in 71 Blackout. This is a super dark red/purple matte lipstick which I, to be honest, don’t feel very comfortable in. However, for someone a bit bolder I think this lipstick would look amazing and there is nothing wrong with the formula. The lipstick is easy to apply, feels soft and comfortable on the lips even though it’s matte, and it has a good staying power.
