Last week I was at a blog event with GoodPr where some very interesting products were shown. In my goodiebag I found this cream cleanser from Esse Probiotic Skincare which immediately caught my interest and I’ve now tried it out for about two weeks.
Esse Probiotic Skincare is an organic, vegan and cruelty free brand which has been around since 2002. According to Esse, there is an ecosystem of microbes living on the surface of our skin. It is important to ensure a healthy microbial environment when cleansing the face and the Esse cream cleanser is well-suited for this purpose. The cleanser has a pH of 5 which is favourable for the microbes since it is the natural skin pH. Some of the active ingredients in the cleanser are: Marula oil, Aloe Vera, Jojoba oil, Palmarosa, Caraway and Rose Geranium.
I’ve used this cream cleanser for cleansing my skin in the morning and after I’ve removed my makeup in the evening . According to Esse you can also use the cleanser to remove eye make-up if you use the cleanser with a cotton pad. However, I have not tried it. I haven’t changed anything else in my skincare routine except from switching to this cleanser in order to be able to review the product as well as possible.
Above you can see a picture of how one pump of the cleanser looks like. It has a yellow color and the consistency is quite runny. One thing I really like about the cleanser is that one full pump is the perfect amount that you need for washing your face.
So moving on to my review of the Esse Cream Cleanser. My first reaction when I started using it was that the smell was really strong. It is very difficult to describe the scent but it reminds me of wood and licorice. When using the cleanser it doesn’t foam much and it feels really soft on the skin. The skin feels super clean and fresh afterwards and the cleanser doesn’t dry out your skin. My skin has actually improved a little while using this cleanser, but of course I cannot be sure that the improvement is due to the cleanser. The condition of your skin depends on so many different factors (hormones, food, stress etc.) which makes it difficult to know how well skin products work.
I absolutely love the sustainable thinking at Esse as a company and the fact that their products are vegan, cruelty free and organic. This is a big plus in my book and I would love to try more of their products. If you want to read more about Esse Probiotic Skincare and their products I highly suggest you to check out their website where they have lots of information. I hope this review has been helpful and if you have any questions just write a comment.
