Essie has released some lovely polishes for this spring! The collection is called Ballet Nudes by Essie and consists of six dreamy polishes and a top coat. The polishes have the gel couture formula – meaning they are gel-like polishes which will last for up to 12 days but no UV-lamp is needed and they come off with regular polish remover. Sounds great huh?

The mix of colors in the Ballet Nudes by Essie collection is perfect – exactly my taste! For the swatches I applied two coats, but when I apply the polishes on my real nails I sometimes need three coats to get the polish even. However, with the top coat, the polishes last really well. I wore the shade ‘lace me up’ for two weeks and it lasted surprisingly well – only some minor chipping the last days. I must warn you though, I forgot to apply a base coat underneath the polish and it stained my nails really bad. So make sure to use a good base coat to avoid getting yellow nails.

essie ballet nudes swatches review gel couture pink nude nail polish names Essie describes the polishes as follows:

Satin slipper: flawlessly feminine, perpetually pretty. This graceful silky champagne ivory is always on pointe.

Lace me up: slip on this misty rose pink, and dance your way to greatness with eternal chic.

Hold the position: power meets poise. In this fierce coral peach pink, have it all without moving a muscle.

At the barre: here’s some fancy footwork: get a leg up on the competition in this soft cinnamon nude.

Perfect posture: hold your head up high when the curtain opens on this periwinkle powder blue.

Closing night: bring the house down when you spin, twirl and take a bow in this soft shimmer gray. Brava!

IsaDora spring 2017 nail polishes

Be prepared for some GORGEOUS nail polishes! IsaDora killed it with their spring polishes this year. There are three lovely pink shades which feel super trendy right now. I’ve swatched them all for you guys – one shiny and one matte version. Do you like them as much as I do?

IsaDora 546 Cool Mauve

First we have IsaDora 546 Cool Mauve (click!) which is a dark pink/mauve shade with a creme formula. The polish covers well in two coats and I actually think I prefer the matte version of this one. The matte top coat I used is also from IsaDora and is called IsaDora Gel Nail Lacquer Matt Top Coat (click!).

Next we have this lighter pink shade called IsaDora 544 Nude Attitude (click!). Also this one covers well in two coats and it’s a creme formula. I think this one is my absolute favorite of the three!

Lastly we have IsaDora 545 Dolce Rose (click!) which is a light pink/peachy shade with some golden shimmer in it. Unfortunately, the shimmer barely shows up on the nails but anyhow it’s a really nice shade for spring. Also this polish covers well in two coats.

Hope you liked this blog post and are as excited for spring as I am! Stay tuned for more spring polish swatches and nail art in the coming weeks!

The OPI Fiji collection recently launched and it’s a lovely spring/summer collection with 12 bright and pastel polishes. In part 1 and part 2 of my OPI Fiji review I showed you swatches of eight polishes from the collection. In this blog post I’ll show you the last four shades!

First we have OPI Super Trip-i-cal-i-fiji-istic which is a lovely blue creme polish. What I like most about this polish is that it’s the perfect middle-tone of blue – not too dark and not too light. Also, the formula of this one was very pleasant to work with and it covered well in two coats.

This polish is OPI Exotic Birds Do Not Tweet, a super bright yellow shade. It’s a creme polish with a very thin formula – I applied three coats to get a somewhat opaque finish. I’m usually not the biggest fan of yellow but I think this polish will be a nice one for Easter.

Next up is OPI No Tan Lines. It’s a creme polish which I think will look a lot nicer in the summer with a bit of a tan. Also with this polish, the formula is quite thin. I applied three coats to get an opaque and even finish.

Lastly, we have OPI Living On The Bula-vard! which is a super bright red shade with orange undertones. When I first saw this shade I wasn’t really sure about it, but once I applied it I was hooked! It’s a creme polish which needs three coats for full opacity.

If you’re interested in buying any of the polishes in the OPI Fiji collection, you can find them on the following web sites:

International shipping: Sally Beauty and eBay
Scandinavian shipping: Eleven and Lyko
