CND Aurora 2015 Collection (Vinylux) review and nail art

I love this winter collection from CND! They’ve captured the winter season perfectly with the polishes called Nordic Lights #202, Winter Glow #203, Glacial Mist #204 and Tundra #205. You don’t need a base coat for these polishes, they have a 5-free formula (free from 5 dangerous chemicals often found in nail polishes) and they are claimed to last for 7 days. That’s amazing!

From left to right: Nordic Lights, Tundra, Glacial Mist and Winter Glow.

Glacial Mist is my favorite. I love the blue shade and the tiny silver glitter flakes makes it sparkle like snow! The only downside is that I had to apply three coats for full coverage. However, all polishes in the collection dries super fast which I love!

I did a simple nail art design using Nordic Lights and Winter Glow. I was so amazed by the light pink creme polish, it applied very evenly and is opaque in only two coats! Most of my other light pink polishes need three coats to cover so this one is definitely a favorite. Nordic Lights (love that name!) is a really pretty glitter polish. It has a purple base and multicolored glitter flakes in different sizes and shapes. A unique and fun polish!

Tundra is a shimmery, purple polish with a beautiful shiny finish. It is a little bit streaky but it is a nice polish for everyday. It’s fully opaque in two coats.

I’ve tried a couple of  polishes from the OPI holiday Starlight collection. The first one is Let Your Love Shine, a gorgeous shimmery red polish with a hint of gold. This one is PERFECT for Christmas!

The other polish I’ve tried is Super Star Status, my favorite glitter polish at the moment! This one will look amazing for New Years Eve or any Christmas party. I love the combination of smaller glitter pieces in silver and  bigger glitter pieces in gold. A really pretty polish! Check out the tutorial below if you want to see how I created the glitter fishnet manicure.

IsaDora Velvet Matt Nails 2015 review and nail art #ROYALMATTS

IsaDora recently launched this beautiful matt collection. There are six gorgeous polishes, perfect for autumn and winter. What I like most about them is that they dry super fast. Usually I use fast drying top coat (who has time to wait for polish to dry?!) but since you can’t use it for these polishes without ruining the matt finish, I really appreciate that they dry fast. I’ve made some nail designs using these polishes (see below). I have a hard time choosing a favorite because they are all beautiful! I’ll probably use the green, blue or purple the most.

Velvet Matt Nails IsaDora
From left to right: 820 Soft Skin, 821 Green Planet, 822 Moody Blues, 823 Grape Royal, 824 Vintage Wine and 825 Black Caviar

For the first mani I sponged 821 Green Planet and 822 Moody Blues over a white base. This is sooo easy to do, takes no time at all and you can use any colors you like! Just use a tiny bit of a make up sponge, paint on polish, dab most of the polish off on a piece of paper and then dab the sponge all over the nail.

Next is 823 Grape Royal and 820 Soft Skin with a nail charm from www.bornprettystore.com (use the code IAG10 for 10% off your purchase). I absolutely love this purple/blue polish! It looks very elegant and it is opaque in only ONE coat! How amazing?!

IsaDora Grape Royal

Last but not least is this mani where I used 820 Soft Skin and 824 Vintage Wine. I used ordinary nail tape to make the lines. It was a bit tricky to get them straight but I think it looks alright anyway. Vintage Wine is a super cool polish. It looks blue when you first apply it but then it dries to a more red color. Just as Grape Royal it is opaque in only one coat! Soft Skin is almost opaque in one coat as well but since I’m quite picky with the coverage I applied a second coat.

Hope you like this collection, I definetely do! I love the matt trend and I think these polishes will look amazing this autumn and winter.
