The OPI Fiji collection has just launched and I must say it’s a gorgeous spring/summer collection with lots of fun shades! There are twelve polishes altogether, and in this blog post I’ll show you swatches of the first four shades. Don’t forget to check out part 2 and part 3 as well!

First we have this lovely light pastel purple polish called OPI Polly Want a Lacquer? It’s a creme formula and I think it’s a gorgeous shade for spring! What you should know however, is that the formula is very thin and I needed to apply 3 coats for full coverage. It was a bit difficult to get an even finish and the polish had a tendency to run down onto the cuticles.

Next is this grey polish called OPI I Can Never Hut Up. I really like this color, it’s a good contrast to the more colorful polishes in the collection. The polish has a tiny bit of light blue shimmer in it but you can barely see it on the nails. Two coats give full coverage and I like the formula. It is easy to get an even result and I really like this polish as an everyday shade.

This one is called OPI Two-timing the Zones and it’s a classic bright pink creme polish that every summer collection needs! Unfortunately I didn’t like the formula of this one, it was a bit difficult to get even. It covered well in two coats but I needed a third coat to even out the polish.

The last polish for part 1 of the OPI Fiji swatches is OPI Do You Sea What I Sea? It’s a lovely blue shade with LOTS of shimmer! I was actually surprised over how thin the formula is, but it still covered pretty well. If you’re not as picky as I am, you can get away with 2 coats, but I applied a third coat to get it fully opaque. I absolutely love this shade and I think it will look stunning on the beach in the middle of the summer!

New Year’s nails

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a good night yesterday and a good start of the new year. Here are my new year’s nails, a super simple mani but very glittery.

The black glitter polish is Depend no 5033 Elf Kisses which is part of Depend’s winter collection Rough Glitter. I love this polish since it turns into a matte, textured finish when it dries – it’s gorgeous! For the accent nail I used another stunning polish, Ciaté Antique Brooch. You can read more about this one in my Ciaté blog post here.

The other week I got some lovely nail polishes from Ciaté which are perfect for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. I love Ciaté’s bottles, especially the bows which make the polishes look extra special!

From back to front we have: Twilight, Glametal, Antique Brooch, Snow Globe and Mistress mini polish. Twilight is a very dark green and gold shimmer/glitter polish, Glametal is a silver shimmer/glitter polish with slightly golden tones, Antique Brooch is a glitter gold polish with small and big pink glitter pieces, Snow Globe is a top coat containing chunky pieces of holographic glitter and Mistress is a bright red polish with an orange undertone. My favorites are Snow Globe and Antique Brooch and I’m sure I’ll get a lot of wear out of these during the coming weeks.

If you’re interested in buying any of these polishes you can find them on these web shops:

In this manicure I used Ciaté Mistress as my base color and added Ciaté Snow Globe as a top coat. A super simple, but very festive mani! Mistress has quite a thin formula and I applied three coats for full coverage. Depending on how much glitter you want, add more or less coats of the top coat. If you want a lot of glitter, add the polish to a makeup sponge and dab on the polish.
